But I think a smaller live tree won't be overwhelming. I'm doing it!

Hillbilly Mom if you look on top of the metal cap sometimes there will be a stamp where it was made. I found a bunch of my grandma's ornaments with Shiny Brite on top and that's the American company that more-or-less stepped in and became the popular ornaments once World War 2 started and we destroyed Lauscha.

And good grief, the Farmer is passing up a FREE Christmas Tree??? And real trees make the house smell sooo good.

Lime...I didn't know you were German! And I'm really warming up to the idea of a small live tree. Hope I can find one the perfect size. I'll even take a "Charlie Brown" tree :PChickadeehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00516832244348723175noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1404832018676702431.post-67658472230090962011-11-27T19:54:38.648-06:002011-11-27T19:54:38.648-06:00thanks! i learned something new and it's abou...thanks! i learned something new and it's about my own heritage so i really appreciate that. i think a small tree celebrating such special ornaments would be a sweet idea. :)limehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17259558876349307173noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1404832018676702431.post-72759455278414866112011-11-27T15:03:42.906-06:002011-11-27T15:03:42.906-06:00My mom has a bunch of those glass ornaments. I think we have an ornament like that green one. In red, too.

I need my tree up YESTERDAY! Farmer H refuses to get it out. It's artificial, because he decreed two years ago that he was not putting up a real tree. That's also a bee in my behemoth bonnet of real or imagined slights from Farmer H.

My grandma used to have a Scotch pine tree farm, and we always picked out a tree the day after Thanksgiving, and sawed it down and put it up two weeks before Christmas. Now my cousin runs the farm, and still gives me a free pine. But Farmer H can't be bothered.

I guess I shouldn't complain. We just took down last year's artificial tree in July or August. Because I liked the glow of lights at night while watching TV.Hillbilly Momhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18067833789262242514noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1404832018676702431.post-71564713830835571662011-11-27T09:01:42.037-06:002011-11-27T09:01:42.037-06:00With ornaments that really mean something, your tr...With ornaments that really mean something, your tree should be a delight this year.
